There was a Nikko Alpha II lying around
There’s a chance this is too much amp for what I’m using as my computer speakers
It sounds good, but from the other side of the room. It doesn’t really do low volume...but damn the Realistics sound good, they deserve to be in a bigger space almost as much as the Kappas do.
Not even working hard and it’s plenty loud
I think I’ll stick to the little Sansui 210.....

Holy crap! That thing is gorgeous.
I’m running a BGW amp with a Sumo Electra preamp, but it’s not for my computer, LOL, it’s my main system.

Any recommendations for a small-ish amp that’d be hideable at a computer desk? i have a pair of B&O CX50(4" mids) that i intend to use for computer speakers with a seperate subwoofer. Only thing i have atm is either car audio amps(gah so power hungry) or a cheap phillips 2.1 built-in amp from the previous PC setup...

I’m not sure on that one, I really only play with vintage stuff, none of it is very small :/ This seems like a relevant list though http://www.pcworld.com/article/203537…

Isn’t it? I wish it were mine, but it’s just borrowed.... This is my usual setup, and when my desk was actually clean. Much less power, but I love the character of the 210, it makes up for its lack of power.
My main system is bi-amped with a 1976 Sansui 9090DB and a 1959 Dynaco ST70

Thanks for the link. Yeah the old good stuff is bulky, but oh so nicely built... Pressed hexagonal copper interior panels in some pioneers and such, gawd yes.

I can’t believe the build quality of the Sansei turntable I got yesterday, all the buttons are so satisfying, the whole thing feels like it should survive many more years of use

I did some electronics recycling a few years back, you could feel and see the way better build quality in older gear. Things were metal and chunky, buttons made noises that weren’t cheap, and just the feel of something nice and solid you know won’t die...

Ah yeah, I remember your system from the other day, and the nice console below.

The nostalgia is real.
Also, tmw your amp or speakers are more prominent on your desk than your monitor or computer

Yeah, I may have a problem with audio equipment overkill

It’s cool, everyone has there thing and I for one think that electronic components were made with higher attention to detail and quality in the past.
\Also, bruh do you even listen to sound bruh

I definitely agree, I don't get much out of modern equipment, with a few exceptions. Lol I try not to think about how many people only listen to stuff on earbuds and phone speakers

Guilty of that but I do have a really nice headset for work and gaming.

Don't be too jealous, the amp is only borrowed
